Major projects completed

  • Distributed press release on appointment of new Commissioners; established plan in Task Force for Commissioner op-eds to advance story.
  • Helped to write and mail welcome letters from the Commission Chair to the new Legislature.
  • Announced hire of Kelsey Preces, Program Officer for Sector Initiatives, to local media; published info on Volunteer Maine website.
  • Helped to execute Commissioner-driven Instagram takeover feat. Julia Fiori.
  • Produced and published January "Volunteer Fare" newsletter.
  • Reported on and promoted MLK Day of Service activities, primarily focusing on AmeriCorps members.
  • Completed edits to the Volunteer Leaders section of the website: Refreshing look/feel of professional development fund page; giving more visibility to Service Enterprise.
  • Produced support webpages and graphics at request of Program Training and Development Officer for AmeriCorps member conference RFP.
  • Created a webpage to archive Maine involvement in PBS American Portrait project.
  • Met with Program Development/Training Officer and Program Officer for Volunteer Sector Initiatives to discuss PSA creative.

Issues to be aware of

  • Creative backlog: Time will be needed to catch-up on additional projects, as much of the Communication plan had to be altered in light of the pandemic as well as the new website project.

Major focus of effort in the next month

  • Annual report: Finishing layout/production, publishing and distribution.
  • National Service Directory: Finishing production and distribution
  • Producing new public service announcement campaigns, radio and TV, for 2021.
  • Continuing work with subcommittee in Communications Task Force to integrate behavior change marketing into the plan.
  • Capturing recurring event dates and other deadlines to simplify annual planning.
  • Providing guidance to Press and Media subgroup of AmeriCorps Member Conference planning committee.
