Volunteer Services Coordinator

Major Projects:

  • All Maine Service Fellows positions for 2025-2026 have been filled. All members have been onboarded and are beginning service at the end of May through the beginning of June. All sites have been onboarded as of 5/12/2025. One Fellow is completing their service in June 2025 (Gianluca Yornet de Rosas in Norway at CEBE).
  • Scheduled two training days for incoming Maine Service Fellows: Facilitation in Augusta on 6/4 and Building Trust in Rural Communities on 6/5
  • Presented information to non-AmeriCorps site supervisors around the NGA’s Service-to-Career Policy Academy.
  • Requested AmeriCorps and other service providers to complete on online survey identifying the types of training/credentialing that they currently provide and have invited representatives of these providers to attend a half-day focus group in June to participate in the Gap Analysis process with workforce development and industry representatives.
  • Reviewed documentation, grants, background information, and ongoing reporting for Maine Service Fellows and the National Governor’s Association Service to Career Policy Academy.
  • Built out Basecamp sites for Maine Service Fellows Members and Maine Service Fellows Site Supervisors
  • Enrolled new cohort of service fellows in OnCorps and created training materials around the use of that tool for service fellows and site supervisors.

Issues to be aware of:

  • LD 876 has a hearing on May 8. This bill would fund additional slots for MSF through the state budget.

Major focus of effort in new month/Ongoing:

  • Collaborating with National Governor’s Association and the Green Employer’s Cohort on Service to Career Pathways and training opportunities
  • Build plan for regular virtual meetings and collaboration between Maine Service Fellows 2025-2026 cohort.
  • Connect with Maine Volunteer Foundation.
  • Conduct Maine Service Fellows site visits
  • Close out service for MSF in Norway.
  • Continue to collaborate with Resilient Maine
  • Commission board meeting on the 16th
  • Continue to develop knowledge and begin strategic planning for the next year of MSF site and Service Fellow recruitment.
  • Work with Daniel Estes to create a plan for Policy Academy focus groups made up of employers, employer groups, and AmeriCorps site personnel to develop 2-3 Service-to-Career pathways to deploy with existing AmeriCorps sites.
