Volunteer Services Coordinator

Major Projects:

Continuing to develop skills in providing Service Enterprise Training. Working with Brick Store Museum on accreditation.

Manage P-Card for department expenses and department travel.

Participated in the Resilient Maine Monthly Steering Committee Meeting

Closed out Fellow service for D. Thapaliya and J. Fagan.

Presented to the AmeriCorps Technical Assistance Meeting around volunteer management.

Met with the Girl Scouts of Maine regarding volunteer management.

Revised final report for the National Governor’s Association Service-To-Careers Pathways Policy Academy.

Attended the Maine Volunteer Managers Network meeting, began taking on the responsibility of leading the MVMN for the future.

Attended the State Strategy Task Force January meeting.

Presented about Volunteer Maine to the Municipal Planning Assistance Program’s Regional Council meeting for Washington County Regional Council staff.

Drafted Annual Report content for the Commission annual report for Maine Service Fellows and the NGA Service-to-Careers Pathways Policy Academy.

Engaged with the Maine Service Fellows site selection committee to approve the application of the Town of Castine after the Cherryfield Riverwalk Committee declined to continue their service for  a second term.

With Lucy Martin, collaboratively managed the social media scheduling and content for Volunteer Maine. Developed, designed, created, scheduled, and deployed social media posts and updated Volunteer Maine website as appropriate.

With Lucy Martin, worked with Resilient Roots, LLC to develop a series of micro-credentials to support development in communication, collaboration, leadership and other key workforce skills.  We are working to identify a credentialing process for these courses and plan to deploy them in early 2026.

Updated the Volunteer Management Certificate Course offered through Volunteer Maine. The course will be ready for deployment in February of 2026.

Attended MCCS and MOCA staff meetings and attended monthly Commission Business meeting.

Met with Maine Service Fellows site host cohort and monthly Fellow cohort meeting.

Issues to be aware of:

Recruitment will begin for new Maine Service Fellows in February 2026 for slots opening in May 2026.

Major focus of effort in new month/Ongoing:

Proctoring the Certificate in Management of Volunteers course.

Develop social media materials and schedules for all aspects of Volunteer Maine to increase public awareness of the Commission and what it provides to the public. Continue to update the Volunteer Maine website to reflect current offerings and increase visual impact through updated photos and graphics.

Prepare to attend the Points of Light National Volunteer Conference in July 2026.

Support the roll-out of ServeMaine.Org through planning, social media, and site support.

Recruit and interview candidates for four Maine Service Fellows positions for 2026-2027. Onboard new and existing site hosts for 2026.

Work with Good Shepherd Food Bank to reaccredit as a Service Enterprise.

Increase engagement in the Maine Volunteer Managers Network through in-person and virtual meeting opportunities.
