Public Information Officer

Started new position on June 15^th.

Major Projects:

• Onboarding for new position, IT trainings, access to Sharepoint and Onedrive, budget basics
• State Service Strategy outreach and listening sessions: coordinated outreach with non-profits, municipal representatives, community organizations, and individuals involved in community service/ volunteerism to attend listening sessions as part of the data collection process for the 2027-2030 State Service Strategy
• Attended listening session in Van Buren
• Met with each member of Volunteer Maine staff as well as MOCA Director and Communications Coordinator to learn about department roles, vision, goals, and responsibilities.
• Helped prepare for and attended June Commission meeting

Issues to be aware of:

• Some listening sessions had to be rescheduled/ canceled due to lack of participation or response from certain sectors

Major focus of effort in new month/ ongoing:

• Assisting with planning and creating materials for the Maine Volunteer Leadership Conference
• Take on staff liaison responsibilities for the Public Policy Task Force Meeting
• Developing AmeriCorps Alumni newsletter
