Grants Officer: April 2021

Major projects completed:

  • Took the first five modules of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate offered by USF Muma College of Business: Emotional Intelligence, Stereotypes & Biases, Understanding your Organization, Future of Your Organization through D & I, and Recruitment & Retention; There are two more sessions to complete in order to achieve the certification
  • Attended and participated in ASC’s 2021 Virtual National Service Training Conference
  • Sent out the Peer Reviewer applications for the GTF review and approval
  • Attended the ASN monthly update call that went over updated NSCHC rules and updates to member enrollment in the eGrants portal
  • Closed-out of Seeds of Hope grant (18AFHME001-0009)
  • Prepared and submitted Federal Financial Reports (FFR’s) to the Federal Agency for 18ACHME001 & 18AFHME001
  • Assisted KVCAP’s finance staff with budget modification
  • Meeting with GPCOG Program Director to discuss match concerns
  • Worked with the Program Officer for Volunteer Initiatives to correct and adapt the  Federal Agency’s course for Key Concepts for Cash and In-Kind which needed repair and other necessary updates to be in alignment with current regulations and accessibility standards
  • Staff performance & assessment tech review prepared for the GTF for continuations of GPCOG, KVCAP and USM-MEAP, Alfond Youth Center and the Maine Development Foundation
  • Continued an ongoing review and process of Periodic Expense Reports (PER’s), Periodic Income Reports (PIR’s), Aggregated Financial Reports (AFR’s) and Grantee Progress Reports (GPR’s) along with corresponding reimbursement requests
  • Began the financial monitoring process for all AmeriCorps subgrantees
  • Amendment discussion with GTF about grant continuation policy for rural subgrantees
  • Participated in the April Commission Civic Engagement discussion
  • Sent out informal unexpended funds request for all AmeriCorps programs

Issues to be aware of:

  • Pursuing an appeal for the member enrollment issue with Colby College

Major focus of effort for the next month:

  • Key Concepts for Cash and In-Kind review and launch before the end of May
  • Complete the Financial monitoring of subgrantees and begin the AmeriCorps member file monitoring
  • Continued an ongoing review and process of Periodic Expense Reports (PER’s), Periodic Income Reports (PIR’s), Aggregated Financial Reports (AFR’s) and Grantee Progress Reports (GPR’s) along with corresponding reimbursement requests
