Issues to be aware of

  • Due to scheduling conflicts that impacted attendance of the last Communications Task Force meeting, work to restart the "Service Instigator" PSA campaign has been put on the agenda of the Dec. meeting.
  • Execution of improved monthly social media strategy: Due to unforeseen priority items impacting the availability of the Administrative Specialist, work will need to be done to tweak the plan of execution to allow for the Communications Officer to lead content creation efforts, when needed. An alternative solution could be to bring in a contractor to assist in content creation.

Major focus of effort in the next month

  • Executing first AmeriCorps recruitment content generation (photo/video) shoot at the sites where First4 AmeriCorps members serve.
  • Finalizing AmeriCorps program gear order.
  • Collaborating with Executive Director and Climate Corps planner to publish draft Climate Corps report to Legislature and bring visibility to the draft and public comment opportunities.
  • Continuing work to develop a plan for a long-term AmeriCorps recruitment campaign that targets potential gap year students as well as individuals looking for a change in career.
  • Brainstorming and planning: awareness campaign around results of COVID-19 volunteer impact report.
  • Brainstorming and planning: awareness campaign to improve Maine's civic health and its relationship to service and volunteerism
  • Preparing 2022 Public Service Announcement contract with Maine Association of Broadcasters.
  • Approval and distribution of Maine Service Fellows program gift to the Maine Volunteer Foundation announcement.
  • Collaborating with the Communications Task Force to restart planning and production of the "Service Instigator" public service announcement campaign. The campaign will lean heavily on the approach of behavior change marketing.
  • Planning: Volunteer Maine 2022 Annual Report.
