Major projects completed

  • Presented on AmeriCorps at Leavitt High School career fair.

  • Presented session for Maine Volunteer Leadership Conference, "Rethinking the Pitch," which discussed alternative approaches to pitching the media.

  • Earned media coverage for Maine Volunteer Leadership Conference.

  • Advised in the creation of new branded outreach and informational materials.

Issues to be aware of

  • The Communications Officer missed a good chunk of time in November due to a personal matter followed by illness. Roche will work to get caught up and back on track.

  • There are continued issues with the calendar function of the website. Bryan continues to work with vendor InforME to find a solution. The issue should be resolved by mid-December, at the latest. 

Major focus of effort in the next month/continuation

  • Planning annual report

  • 2023 PSA contract with Maine Association of Broadcasters

  • Collaborating with team members to get new outreach material orders placed

  • Rethinking Communications Plan and planning meetings with staff members to design individual plans for focus areas.

  • Development of Training for Life campaign, specifically determining best avenues for promotion.

  • Collaborating with Task Force to produce an op-ed in-line with "year-round giving" concept.

  • Continued digital promotion of AmeriCorps service opportunities.

  • "Volunteer Fare" newsletter reboot.

  • Ongoing work to update press release/news distribution lists to include updated list of commissioners, MVF Board members, and other supporters both in state government and AmeriCorps Federal agency.

Other

  • Staffed November Communications Task Force meeting.
